This plain-language draft reflects common trailer-hire practices. It is not an approved Raeko contract and must be reviewed and adapted by the company before use. Your signed hire agreement and applicable South African law govern any confirmed rental.
Requests depend on trailer availability. A booking is confirmed only when Raeko confirms it in writing and the agreed rental fee and deposit are settled. Raeko will state the amounts, payment method and any cancellation terms before confirmation.
Collect and return at the agreed place and times. Ask Raeko before changing or extending a hire. Late return may incur an additional agreed hire charge. The hire ends after the trailer is returned and inspected.
The hirer must hold the required valid driving licence and use a roadworthy, legally suitable towing vehicle and towbar. Check the coupling, safety chain, lights, tyres and load security before departure. Follow the trailer’s rated capacity and road rules.
Use the trailer only for its intended lawful purpose. Do not overload, sublet, modify or take it outside South Africa without written permission. Keep it secured and take reasonable care to prevent theft or damage.
Responsibility for damage, loss, excesses and recovery costs must be stated clearly in the signed agreement before collection. Notify Raeko promptly of any incident, breakdown or theft and obtain a police case number where required.
Raeko and the hirer should inspect the trailer at collection and return, recording existing damage and condition. Any lawful deductions from the deposit should be explained and itemised; the balance and expected refund timing should be confirmed.
Terms should be reviewed for compliance with the Consumer Protection Act and POPIA. No term here removes rights that cannot legally be waived.
